Logicbase Interactive: Our Response to COVID-19
“The severe pain and the great trials we go through teach us the real essence of great joy.”
― Ernest Agyemang Yeboah
These are trying times. The COVID-19 pandemic has spread throughout global communities, leaving thousands infected in its wake.
The COVID-19 outbreak was first reported in Asia as early as November 2019, and it has since spread across continents. Countries began implementing travel restrictions or bans, and social distancing – a newly coined term – became the norm for many communities attempting to stave off the spread of the outbreak.
We at Logicbase Interactive are taking this situation very seriously. The company has taken safety measures to heart even in the early days of the outbreak: our office immediately equipped workstations with means for disinfection, such as sanitizer, and provided information to all employees regarding proper distancing practices. Employees who showed signs of being under the weather were strongly encouraged to work remotely for their health’s sake, and the office premises were routinely cleaned everyday.
As the outbreak turned for the worse and community quarantine was implemented, Logicbase Interactive’s management wasted no time in establishing more diligent means to ensure the health and safety of its people.
Employees with the means to work from home were mandated to do so, effective immediately, and remote telecommuting options were also provided for those who wished to work at home but didn’t have the equipment needed.
The skeletal team of employees who have volunteered to maintain working hours at the office were provided with face masks and sanitizer, and are assigned to work at individual stations that meet social distancing standards.
Finally, communication channels were maintained open, so that employees can immediately notify coworkers and supervisors in the event of emergency.
Not everything is grim, as well. Because the company encourages healthy communication practices between its teams, socializing with coworkers remains just as lively. The Logicbase Interactive’s men and women have moved meetings from the conference room to chat clients like Slack and Skype, and friendly jokes have taken on the form of memes in the meantime.
The transition from an office setting to a remote working setting, while implemented on short notice, have nonetheless been smooth, thanks in equal parts to the management’s foresight and the employees’ cooperation.
We don’t know how long the pandemic will remain a crisis; we are with the rest of the world in hoping it will pass sooner than later, for the safety of everyone. That being said, we’re doing everything we can to make sure that we’re operating as efficiently as possible despite the circumstances. We feel that what’s important right now is to provide stability by maintaining daily routines and livelihoods.
The COVID-19 pandemic is one extraordinary hurdle – but we at Logicbase Interactive believe we have what it takes to overcome it, through faith, determination, and cooperation.
We look forward to seeing you on the other side of this crisis. Stay safe!
