Spooky Scary Halloween: A Seasonal Celebration at LogicBase Interactive
‘Twas the season of ghosts, monsters, and ghouls – oh my!
Halloween, according to Wikipedia, is the first of a three-day Allhallowtide, which is dedicated to remembering the dead and all the faithful departed including saints and martyrs. While it’s predominantly celebrated in its pop culture version in North America, it’s also commonly celebrated in various parts of the world – the Philippines included.
Last October 30, 2019, the ladies and gentlemen of LogicBase Interactive, LLC celebrated Halloween in the spirit of the holiday, dressing up in costumes for the whole day. Some dressed up as characters from popular movies and shows, while a few opted to go for famous archetypes like witches or spectres of death.
The office mood during that day was festive. Classic tracks like Michael Jackson’s Thriller were played throughout the day, and a catered lunch was shared among the employees. During mid-afternoon, an informal awarding ceremony for Best Costume was held.
The Best Costume awards went to Karen and Luis, who were dressed as Valak from Insidious and Death, respectively. The grand prize were two tickets each for an upcoming concert. Consolation prizes were given to Jeff (dressed as Pennywise from It), Mikoy, Renbert, Junix (dressed collectively as the Powerpuff Girls), Dana (dressed as a witch), Janine (dressed as a mummy), and John B. (dressed as Miguel from Coco).
Not long after, costumed LBI employees took to the streets to give out treats (and attempt tricks) at the nearby Gaston Park, much to the delight of the children milling about.
All in all, the day was a success. The LBI Halloween Day was not a grand event in terms of material trappings, but it had the spirit of a close-knit family celebrating together in a comfortable and welcoming setting. With an enthusiastic attitude, a willingness to participate, and a healthy helping of good food, the LBI family toasted to the memories of the dearly departed in the true spirit of the holiday.
Three cheers to more events in the future!
