A Starry, Starry Night: The Logicbase Interactive Year-End Gathering
“Starry, starry night, paint your palette blue and grey,” sings Don McLean in the opening lines of Vincent, a tribute song to the painting Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh. The painting referenced in the song depicts the view from Van Gogh’s hospital room during early morning, the deep midnight easing into lilac blue as it gives way to yellow morning light.
While somber, the painting elicits a hopefulness in the viewer with its bright splashes of yellow stars and moon over a town yet sleeping.
This image of hopefulness – burgeoning, persisting – is a big reason for the Logicbase Interactive’s year-end gathering choosing A Starry Night as its theme.
Hope has been one of the biggest threads running through Logicbase Interactive’s journey in 2019. Hope, perseverance, and a whole lot of hard work. 2019 has been a challenge throughout, testing everyone and everything. The year had its ups and downs – great highs, and great lows, too.
Logicbase Interactive’s year-end gathering celebrates the year as a family that, while perhaps not as intact as it once was, is still whole and stronger than it was before.
Held last December 15 at the Grand Central Suites, Cagayan de Oro City, the gathering saw the men and women of Logicbase Interactive dress up in formal evening wear. Reception started at 5:00 PM, with the attendees trickling in slowly with their plus ones. The event is recognizing the importance of family and loved ones, and so the men and women of Logicbase Interactive were invited to bring a date to the event. Guests were then ushered to their assigned seating.
At 6:00 PM, the event opened with a prayer from Mr. Kevin Mugot. Jamie Colon, hosting the event, welcomed all the attendees, kicking off the party with a round each of “Bring Me…” and trivia games.
After this round of parlor games, company president Mr. Bryan Joseph King formally opened the night’s event, followed by a toast from Ms. Kai. The toast honored the company’s resilience, and the family that it has built in its five years of existence. The toast, which was loudly and empathically applauded, was followed by saying grace for the dinner. Meals were served buffet style, with the ladies served first, and in the interim soft music with starry themes played on in the background.
Dinner was closed out with a raffle for three brand-name headphones. The raffle was then followed by two intermission numbers – a medley by Geraldine Sajulan, and a Christmas duet by Felicisimo Vasquez, Jr, and Janine Tapere.
Then came the first of two main events of the night: the awarding ceremony for the year’s big achievers. Awards for Employee of The Month were handed out for the months of April through November, as well as the Punctuality awards, Loyalty award, and Rising Star award.
A small intermission was held in the form of another raffle, in which two Google Home minis were given away to lucky winners.
The second of the night’s main events was then kicked off – the exchanging of gifts, where each gifter described their presents for the giftee. Rounding off the night on a high note as a performance by local dance cover group G8shii, dancing to a medley of the year’s pop song hits.
To end the evening’s festivities, Ms. Yani Briones-King held the closing remarks with a prepared speech. Recounting the hardships and trials that the company has faced in 2019 – a particularly harrowing year for the company – Ms. Briones-King brought the crowd to an emotional moment – a sentimental one, but also a triumphant one. The evening ended on a high note, with the men and women of Logicbase Interactive taking to the dance floor and taking several pictures to commemorate the evening.
The LogicBase Interactive year-end gathering was a celebration of family, love, and hope – what a way to close out the year!
